ISIS: An expression of imperialism in Iraq-Syria

While recent developments in Iraq are being portrayed as spontaneous “spillover” from the imperialist war on Syria – still commonly referred to as an uprising, or “revolution” – they are in fact nothing of the sort and in reality represent a culmination of years of covert planning and premeditated imperial policy.

Phil Greaves: Israel and Saudi Arabia’s Priorities in Syria. Covert Militarism and the “Lebanonization Strategy”

Current developments both inside and outside of Syria have shown that the primary sponsors of the extremist-dominated insurgency – namely, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Israel and Turkey – aren’t quite ready to throw in the towel.

No legal standing for US strikes in Syria: Rouhani

KONFRONTASI - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has censured US-led airstrikes against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Syria, calling the campaign an instance of military intervention.

Rouhani made the remarks among US editors and reporters in New York on Wednesday ahead of his address to the United Nations General Assembly this week.

The Iranian president said the strikes by the United States do not have “any legal standing" as the UN has not issued any mandates for intervention in Syria.

Syria slams Israel support for ISIL

KONFRONTASI - Syria has once again slammed the Israeli regime’s support for the Takfiri ISIL militants operating inside the Arab country.

A Syrian military official, whose name was not mentioned in the reports, made the comments on Tuesday after Tel Aviv said earlier in the day that it had shot down a Syrian warplane as it attempted to fly over the ceasefire line into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The official confirmed the shooting down and underlined that the move was based on Tel Aviv's policy of supporting ISIL Takfiris.

Syria says US informed it about strikes on ISIL

KONFRONTASI - Syria says the US had informed Damascus before carrying out airstrikes against the Takfiri ISIL militants’ positions inside the Arab country.

According to Syrian state media, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement released early on Tuesday that Washington informed Syria's permanent envoy to the United Nations that strikes would be launched against the ISIL terrorists in the province of Raqqa.

About The Myth of Syria’s Moderate Rebels

Political Islam has a long history of cooperating with Western imperialism at certain times and in certain places, and of turning against it at other times and in other places. For example, Osama bin Laden cooperated with the United States to overthrow a progressive pro-Soviet government in Afghanistan, and then launched a jihad against the domination of the Middle East by the United States.
