John Kerry warns Israel on danger of PA collapse

KONFRONTASI-The US secretary of state has warned Israel on the danger of a possible collapse of the Palestinian Authority, saying its demise would threaten the security of the Jewish state.

John Kerry said calls from some Israeli politicians to let Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' administration wither are counterproductive and self-defeating for Israel.

Kerry seeks to end Palestinian-Israeli violence

KONFRONTASI-US Secretary of State John Kerry called for an end to inflammatory Israeli-Palestinian rhetoric as he met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who blamed the Palestinians for a recent surge of violence.

Kerry arrived in Berlin on Thursday for talks with Netanyahu.

"It is absolutely critical to end all incitement, to end all violence and to find a road forward to build the possibility, which is not there today, for a larger process," Kerry told reporters as he and Netanyahu posed for pictures.

KONFRONTASI-The United States and China are discussing imposing further sanctions on North Korea, which is "not even close" to taking steps to rein in its nuclear weapons program, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday.
